Faith Has Left the Building

Well, I was already planning on writing about this topic before I read a certain “Christian” news/opinion piece. Now, I am more emboldened, determined, and convinced than ever that I must share this message.

Ironically, I am sickened to no end as I witness the feeble, hypocritical, yet entirely typical Christian response to the coronavirus “pandemic.” Now, I will admit that maybe I am not qualified to criticize the inaction of others when I did not take a particular action myself. However, when one unwaveringly believes in the healing power of God, when one has followed and admired leaders for years for their boldness in believing God for miracles, and then when one sees those same leaders cower before COVID, it can sort of irk a person.

Enough of the buildup. Let’s get on to the big issue of the day.

In these last six or seven months, I do not remember hearing of a single instance, NOT ONE, of pastors, church members, or any Christian going and laying their hands on COVID patients and praying for them to be healed. I am sure a few brave souls did this, but it certainly was not seen on any measurable scale. I know and you know that the Christ-hating media would surely have covered a bunch of reckless Christians who went to lay hands on a person with this “fearsome” disease.

(Oh, and by the way, I honestly don’t care what restrictions were in place. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Someone could have found a way to pray for a sick person in a hospital or in a nursing home. And if that was absolutely not possible, then churches should have invited sick people to come to church and be healed.)

So, suddenly, God cannot heal people of disease. Suddenly, our faith is not big enough to believe for healing miracles. Suddenly, science dwarfs the God who created it.

Oh, yes. We have been more than willing and happy to do virtual church as we abide by the guidelines of the CDC. After all, they know best. They are scientists and medical doctors, and they know how to cure disease. As if the Creator of the universe forgot momentarily how to heal His own creation.

But we are told, in the words of that Christian article’s Christian author, “Don’t test God and scoff at science.” So, dear author, which science should we trust over God? The science coming from the CDC, perhaps? The Bill Gates-funded CDC? So, apparently we should trust evil men who are proven liars–liars who have admittedly manipulated and manufactured the numbers from the beginning of this crisis (they admit that less than 13,000 have actually died from coronavirus), not to save lives, of course, but to accomplish their anti-Christ agenda–liars who are creating the opportunity to control us through contact tracing, vaccines, and chip implants.

Well, maybe we shouldn’t trust the CDC’s science. Let’s just trust the science of the big pharmaceutical companies who have constantly attempted to squash real cures so that they can instead make billions by shooting us all up with their nefarious vaccine.

Well, maybe those greedy pharmaceutical companies should not have our trust. Perhaps Dr. Fauci is a scientist worthy of our trust. But wait, isn’t he the guy who backpedals on almost everything he says? Isn’t he the hypocrite who tells us all to wear face masks but was caught mask-less at a baseball game? Oh, my.

Well, maybe fickle Fauci is not a trustworthy person, either. Maybe we should trust…oh, I know! Our scientific state departments of health should be deserving of our full, blind trust. Yeah, the same ones who are seeing to it that our flailing businesses continue to suffer and suffocate under the weight of unscientific rules and regulations and requirements. The same ones who saw to it that the elderly suffered most by going against basic commonsense and forcing nursing homes to take in COVID patients.

Well, no, I guess they’re no good either. There has to be someone in the mainstream medical community who is trustworthy. I just know there is. I just, you know, can’t think of anyone at the moment.

Sure. Uh huh.

So, dear author, I will stick to trusting God, proven science, and my God-given commonsense over these so-called scientists.

Moreover, at the risk of sounding completely backwards and crazy, this situation we find ourselves in has absolutely nothing to do with science. Because if it really had to do with science, we would actually be using logic and reason instead of fear and emotion. If it really had anything to do with science, we would not be going against decades and centuries of medical knowledge.

If it had to do with rational science and experimentation, we would not be so idiotically experimenting with statewide lockdowns to combat a “novel” virus without stopping to think that the ramifications of these lockdowns are just as “novel” and could turn out to be worse for the wellbeing of the general population than the “novel” disease itself.

No, my friend, it has nothing to do with science. It really has everything to do with control. It has to do with stealing our freedoms. It has to do with stoking fear and destroying life. It has do to with attempts to steal the November election away from the people and destroy America’s Light. It is all being perpetrated and perpetuated by those who hate God and love the devil.

Beyond all that I have already shared, there is something about this situation that is even more egregious to me. Let me share a little story with you.

Once upon a time, there was a California church. In December of 2019, this church experienced a tragedy when one of its worship leaders suddenly lost their little girl. Instead of just accepting this as God’s will, this God-fearing congregation called on believers around the world to pray for that precious girl’s resurrection. I joined in without hesitation because I know that God still does miracles, that He still raises the dead.

While that little girl’s body lay lifeless and dormant in a morgue, our prayers bombarded Heaven. For several days, the global church stood steadfast beside that family, believing that their little girl would be raised. Sadly, at the end of the day, the little girl never breathed the air of Earth again. Yet I am convinced that our prayers were answered, for she was raised. Indeed, I am convinced that at the moment of her passing, she was resurrected with Christ and will forever breathe the pure, unadulterated air of Heaven.

The church’s senior pastor explained later on that they did not regret standing for her resurrection. If they had it to do over, they would have done the same thing. They would have believed God for the impossible.

What I am wondering is what happened to this church that they would suddenly allow the state of California to shut them down for three months because of a viral disease. What happened to these radical believers that they now believed that a disease, no matter how “novel,” to be more powerful than the miracle-working power of God?

Did corona quash their faith?

How could a church that believed so strongly for a little girl to breathe again now be unable to believe in God’s protection and in His ability to heal? Oh, I know they prayed prayers of healing over people who had corona, but I would bet that it was only done at a distance. I get the feeling that they could have done a whole lot more. By holding in-person healing services, I know they could have been part of dismantling the stronghold of irrational fear in this country.

Healing touch prayer! – Jesus follower

What suddenly changed their priorities that they would choose to follow the guidelines of the CDC instead of the guidelines of the Bible?

In less than four months, they seemingly went from believing God for big miracles to either cowering in fear of the governing authorities or believing that the earthly authorities knew best. They chose the path of going along to get along. That’s not what they have done in the past. They did not care about the slander they received or who was rooting against the miracle they were praying for in December. No, they did it anyway.

But now, along with countless other congregations across this country, they have sacrificed their faith in God on the altar of “science.” They have given up on Jesus and His promise that “he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12 NKJV).

They could have taken the road of Daniel’s friends, Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego, and stood in defiance of the government’s command to worship their gods of science. They could have believed in prayer and stood regardless of what happened, regardless of whether God chose to deliver them from the blazing furnace.

They could have said to the government of California: “We do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” (Daniel 3:17-19 NKJV).

I don’t know about anyone else in this room, but I will not bow in blasphemy to the King of the universe. I will believe God to deliver me out of the hand of my enemy. But even if He does not save me, I will never serve their gods of science or worship the image of COVID they have set up.

You must understand that I have not written this to bash or badmouth this church, or any other church, for that matter. I would never do that. I have written this to highlight the spirit of fear, irrational fear, that has gripped the Body of Christ worldwide. We have forgotten just how big and how able to save that our God is. We have forgotten that God told us “Do not fear” 365 times in His Word. In our fear of corona, we have forgotten to fear the LORD.

I would like to end by saying that I have grown sick and weary of all this social distancing and praying from a distance. We need to be the hands-on hands and feet of Christ now more than ever.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:29 NKJV).

Still believing in the God of miracles,

Morgan

P.S. I want you to take the below lyrics to heart.

“Two-thousand years ago He walked the earth, just flesh and bone
He used to heal the sick, make broken hearts turn beautiful,
But today we don’t believe in miracles
Tell me when did we start thinking God stopped movin’ when He does?
And why do we believe that He has somehow lost His touch?
Oh, what’s wrong with us?”

What on Earth is wrong with us? He’s still here, y’all. He did not disappear in March 2020. He is our all-powerful Creator God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is worthy of all our faith, hope, and love. As we believe, we will see the hand of God do the impossible.

Now, let your faith rise as you listen to this powerful anthem.

Wow. What a song, Chris. There couldn’t be a more appropriate time for it than right now.
